This guide will outline the process for submitting a creative writing capstone project to the CIA Library repository.

CIA Creative Writing Capstone Project Submission Information

Congratulations on completing your creative writing capstone project. You will submit your project to the repository by completing the linked form below. The form must be completed in one sitting, so be prepared with all of the required information. Your project must be submitted as a single PDF document. Please see the important information regarding ADA compliance below. If you do not have cover art, please add a coversheet with your name, the title of your work, and the semester and year that you completed the capstone coursework.

The information required includes the following:

  1. Your name and your preferred name (if applicable)
  2. Your CIA email address
  3. Your birth year and place
  4. Your expected graduation year
  5. The type of work you created (choose one from the list)
  6. The title of your work
  7. An alternate title (if applicable)
  8. The year the work was completed
  9. The total number of pages
  10. If the work is illustrated 
  11. The language of the work (if not in English)
  12. A description or summary of the work for display in the repository
  13. The file name of the document you are uploading
  14. A single PDF with cover art or coversheet (please see important note regarding ADA compliance below)
  15. Agree to the three statements (see below)

Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Compliance

Please ensure that your PDF is ADA compliant prior to uploading. 

There are a variety of ways to test that your document is accessible, including the built in accessibility check tool in Acrobat. Visit Adobe's "Create and verify PDF accessibility" page for more information.

Terms of Agreement for Submission

Sole Creator

When you submit your work to the repository, you will be asked to confirm that you are the sole creator of the work. If you are not, you will need to list the names of the co-creators. Each co-creator must independently complete the submission form. 

Personal Information Agreement

You understand that your work will be stored and shared to authorized users of the CIA community. If your work contains information that personally identifies other members of the CIA community, or could allow a third party to identify other members of the CIA community, please reach out to the library staff and secure their agreement via the completion of this form. 

Submission Agreement

You certify that you created and own the copyright to the work you are uploading. You understand that, while you retain your copyright, you are granting CIA's library a revocable license to add your work to the repository for preservation and for future reference by authorized members of the CIA community. You are giving the library permission to provide access to the work. Finally, you understand that you can withdraw your consent by contacting the library in writing and you understand that withdrawal of consent only applies to future dissemination after the written withdraw has been received.
